How about, why bother? Rescue the ranger, finish the quest and move on to Post-sear. How many skills do you have that you can be so choosy?

How about... I want to level up a bit more before going into post-searing, and I am waiting for a friend?
Does anyone have anything to say that is worth my time?

In pre-searing the AoE changes are not applied, thuse Ignite Arrows will not cause them to flee (haven't verified this vs. Charr but everywhere else in pre it does not).
Your partner would best be suited to have some sort of support if you intend on taking those bosses since they can not be pulled to the portal. I would highly recommend either a Mo/X or an E/Mo healer type. Shielding Hands is, without a doubt, the best pre-searing monk skill for Charr hunting. However some Charr will remove enchantments so....

I'd go with a Ranger/Elementalist for the fireslinger build
Bring all the ranger skills you can. Troll Unguent Dual shot and Ignite arrows are great. You can bring a pet too .

Well you can take something like:
Dual Shot
Pointblank Shot
Ignite Arrows
Firestorm
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal
Troll Ungent
However, depending on your level, you simply won't have enough attribute points to make this very effective IMO. Maybe if you are level 14+. I know I had energy issues just running Ignire Arrows and Dual Shot since I only had 5 expertise and 4 wilderness (level 6). Then again 1 less expertise is at least 2-3 in Fire magic.

Why's everyone giving Meneldil a hard time? Dude's asking legitimate questions, so either give legitimate answers or shut it.
Make sure to bring your best Longbow, sometimes an extra ten feet of range is the difference between successful cliff-sniping and having to charge into the teeth of more Axe Fiends and Ash Walker thingies than one is comfortable engaging. As for skills, if you're R/E, no help for it, but the best for this little thing would be /Me to me, and some Conjure Phantasm fun. You'd also get useful heals and snares, which could help you survive a screwed-up pull.

The time I did it I was a warrior ranger and the other was a ranger warrior.
Ok more that once we got totally swamped but the great thing was resurrection with no DP.
We both took bows for cliff sniping where I would switch to axe and shield for some melee only skill both of us took that was the same was ignite arrow the extra damage is well needed.
Good Luck with the hunting.
I have just created an ele/monk if you want a partner for across the wall just let me know
